Community Needs and Special Grants Committee
Community Needs and Special Grants reviews data on well-being in North County and annually recommends to NBUW’s Board of Directors a Statement of Community Vision, Issues, and Priorities. This statement becomes a guide for other committees in funding, membership, and other decisions. CN&SG also oversees NBUW’s efforts to help agencies secure grants from government offices, private corporations and foundations, and the Committee makes decisions regarding requests for special 1-time and major long-term grants for local needs from Northern Berkshire United Way’s own funds.
Goals:
- Develop a transparent Major / Priority Grants process
- Ensure Early Childhood initiative operates effectively.
- Administer small grants in support of NBUW community priorities.
- Implement a plan for strong grant seeking for community priorities.
